First E-Passport for children who were born in USA


Child who is eligible for Thai passport must apply for an e-passport in person at the Royal Thai Consulate General or at the Mobile Consular Units because his/her biometric data, such as finger prints, must be collected in contactless integrated circuit.

Thai Birth Certificate

Parent’s valid passports or Thai Identity Cards together with one photocopy

Marriage Certificate of parents together with one photocopy

Parents are required to come to sign on an application form to give their consents for their minors
to apply for his/her passport. If one or both of them is/are not able to sign on the application form,
a Letter of Consent together with “FORM FOR NOTARY PUBLIC TO NOTARIZE SIGNATURE
OF APPLICANT” notarized by Notary Public is acceptable.

   (US Postal Money Order or Cashier’s check made payable to “Royal Thai Consulate General, LA”)

HOW TO RECEIVE PASSPORT
      1. Applicant may receive his/her passport at the Royal Thai Consulate General or at the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BKK by himself/herself, showing the receipt. However, the applicant’ representative may receive his/her passport, showing a power of attorney together with the receipt and an ID card of the representative.
       2. Applicant may request the Royal Thai Consulate General to mail his/her passport, providing us with pre-paid self-addressed envelope from the Post Office.

NOTE
         All documents and biometric data of applicants have to be sent to the Foreign Ministry, BKK to produce passports and then the passports will be sent to the Royal Thai Consulate General. Processing time is about 2 - 3 weeks .


           The Royal Thai Consulate General is not responsible for any lost mail.
