Retirement Visa
Non-Immigrant Visa “O-A”

*** Non-immigrant visas will not be issued for such purposes as tourism, seeking employment opportunities, looking for a school for teaching or studying purposes, etc.
*** The Consulate will consider the application on a case-by-case basis and may ask for additional documents.


Purpose of visit
       To stay in Thailand for a retirement purpose.(Category “O-A”)
Validity of visa
       The validity of visa is 3 months.
Period of stay
       Travelers with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period up to 1 year.

Fee
       $ 65 for a single-entry ONLY, no multiple-entry.

The fee must be paid in the form of MONEY ORDER or CASHIER’S CHECK only payable to “ROYAL THAI CONSULATE GENERAL LOS ANGELES”. Personal of company checks are NOT acceptable.

Qualifications of an applicant


1. A foreign national whose age is 50 years or above. (on the date of submitting the application)

2. Not being prohibited from entering the Kingdom under the Immigration Act. B.E. 2522 .

3. Having the nationality of or the residence in the country where his/ her application is submitted.

4. Having no criminal record against the security of Thailand and the country of his/her nationality, or the country of his/her residence.

5. Not having prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535)
(Leprosy, Tuberculosis [T.B], Elephantiasis, Drug addiction, Alcoholism, 3nd step of syphilis)

Required documents 
(*** One original and 3 copies. Document 5 – 7 must be notarized.***)


1. 4 application form |Download|

2. 4 photos
     (Passport-type photo, 2” x 2”, color, front-view, taken within 6 months, and write your name and last name on the back of each photo).

     
3. 4 copies of a passport (the picture page) with the original passport.(A passport valid at least 18 months)

4. 4 copies of Personal Data Form. |Download

*5. 4 copies of - bank statement showing a deposit at the amount not less than 800,000 Baht
                      - or an income certificate with a monthly salary of no less than 65,000 Baht
                      - or a deposit account plus a monthly income of no less than 800,000 Baht a year.
                        (In the case of the bank statement, a letter of guarantee from the bank is to be presented)

*6. 4 copies of police verification
      stating the applicant has no criminal record issued by the authority concerned
of his/her nationality or residence.(the verification must be valid not more than 3 months)

*7. 4 copies of a medical certificate |Download|
      issued from the country where the application is submitted,
showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 (B.E. 2535)
with the name and address of the doctor. (the certificate must be valid no more than 3 months)

8. The marriage certificate
      must be presented as an evidence, in the case that the applicant wishes to have
his/ her spouse stay together in the Kingdom but his /her spouse is not qualified for the retirement visa.
(The spouse will be considered for the Non-Immigrant Visa Type “O” or Temporary Residents)


Recommendations for the Alien while staying in the Kingdom.


1. Every 90 days, the alien must report to the Immigration office or the police station in the alien’s residence area.
     
      1.1 In order to report by mail, the alien must submit the following documents 7 days before the due date, by acknowledgement of receipt mail to the Immigration Bureau, Sathon Tai Road, Bangkok 10120 :
           - The Report Form (TM 47)
           - A copy of the passport pages showing the alien’s photo, personal detail, and the latest arrival visa stamp
           - A self addressed stamped envelope


      1.2 In the case of conducting any following reports, the Reply Form for the pervious report must be enclosed.

2. At the end of the one-year stay, the alien who wishes to extend his/her stay must submit a request to the Immigration Bureau with the documented evidence of money transfer /or a deposit account in the Kingdom /or an income certificate at the amount of no less than 800,000 Baht /or an income certificate plus a deposit account at the total amount of no less than 800,000 Baht a year.

3. The marriage certificate must be presented, if the alien’s spouse wishes to extend his/her stay.

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
Consular officers assumes the right to deny or grant any type of visa to the applicant.
